Ode to Fibro

Heaviness seeps in

Aching settles into my joints

Fog falls over my brain

Tiredness becomes a yoke

Light becomes an enemy

Somersaults fill my gut

Tears flood my eyes

Energy seeps out

Worry fills my soul

How will I navigate this day?

Much to do

Places to be

Why now?

Like a cat

Lingering in the corner

Waiting to pounce

Fibro my least favorite friend

Negotiating with you

Pointless at best

Once again

I dig deep inside

To face the day

As gently as I can
